neo-dole t.a.f.e. adventure
Oh, the lengths I will go to to get out of Mutual Obligation. Tomorrow I am enrolling in a TAFE course (yes, I got in) which should exclude me from having to do Work for the Dole.
I'm not sure what this means in terms of my welfare payments. Do I go on Austudy?
I'm sure I'll find out soon.
I've never been to TAFE before, either. Does anyone have any tales to tell me? Hints and tips?

I hear that the people are more mature than highschool kids, less mature than uni kids. And some are real 'tards.
But that's only hearsay. Good luck! xo
say "I embrace the bib and brace" , imagine muscley teenaged apprentices gathering for smoko. mmmm

There a real stigma to TAFE but i think if the suits what you want to learn. And as for 'tards, I’m currently completing a fine arts degree and we have our share, let me tell you! Also Austudy is complicated now and reserved for above 26 (Which is you) and they have complicated rules in regards to how long you can be on it, and how many times etc. Other wise its youth allowance or something. So good luck, hopefully you can get something.
Also got the discs, they're great thanks!
depends whether your course is full time or not. i did a web design course which ran 18 hours a week, just under "fulltime" hours, thus i was still on the dole. which was good, as it is more than austudy, but bad, because you still have to hand in forms etc. the course was tedious and slow, but i learned what i needed in the end. a six month course could have been taught in 6 weeks.
